I woke up this morning congested and was clearing my throat, which is super annoying. I thought, "why did that happen" and remembered that it was a hot evening and I had opened my bedroom window before going to sleep. Where we live, there has been a surge in pollen recently and this most likely caused my congestion as I slept through the night. I will need to address this if I want to get a Snore Score (SS) of 0 versus a 1.
I have to say, after living through severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) for most of my life, it is such a pleasure to think about refining my sleep instead of struggling to get decent sleep every night. For the last nine (9) weeks, I have been consistently getting a SS of 0 or 1 versus a 30+ score months ago. When my severe OSA was at its worst, I can only imagine what that score would have been ... 60-90.
This brings up another subject of how to safely mitigate allergies from spring/summer pollen and not use medication. My solution is to take a very large dose of Alfalfa tablets and it usually clears up the symptoms in a few minutes or less. I use the NOW brand (no affiliation with that company) and take six to seven tablets at a time. NOTE: Check with your doctor to ensure that you are not allergic to alfalfa before you try this.
I hope that helped and happy sleeping!
